The aim of the program is to provide an internet-delivered multi-component physical activity
program designed to increase daily physical activity level. The idea is to learn small ways to be more active.
The site provides users with the knowledge, tools, and motivation necessary to increase daily physical activity.
The program involves three components: cardiorespiratory, flexibility, and strengthening activities. Users are asked
to progress, at 3-month intervals, using individualized instructions specifically outlined on the program web site.
Exercises, described in written format with accompanying photos, are provided for each step. Users begin with
cardiorespiratory activities, progressing to flexibility, and strength activities. The program site is supplemented
with a pedometer allowing employees to monitor daily activity and an elastic resistance band allowing users to easily
perform strengthening exercises while at work.
The University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita administers this program for the Wichita public school district (USD259).
